Fear and the Happy Sad Concept
I wrote this roughly a week ago but was holding it thinking should I change something about it but I am happy with it so here goes.
Fear
Fear can be one of the barriers to moving forward in life. Sometimes it may be good to face them but sometimes I feel the need not to and just be satisfied and happy with how things are. This maybe because of fearing the unknown. Often the questions of what if this happened? What if things were like this? I wish …. Life is a strange one and we all have our own way of facing it and have our own hopes and dreams. We all have different likes and dislikes in life too.

Sometimes it can feel as if one were cornered in life and the way to success is a fight but this needs bravery and not everyone are able to do this. Sometimes we do not know what kind of dangers lurks around the corner. One can feel so close but feel so far at the same time, the irony of life. The key is to try and be calm in the storm but this isn’t always easy. It is easy giving advice when someone is in trouble but to empathise is something that not everyone finds easy. Love is one of the most powerful tools which sustains life on the planet and keeps us going. Once conflict starts love diminishes but maybe one could argue that there is love in arguments too. Those around us can be protective of us especially when we are at our most vulnerable.

The Happy Sad Concept
In life sometimes there are times when one does not know whether to feel happy or sad. I call this the “happy sad concept”. What do I mean by this? For example, grief or pain is sad but one can have a positive outlook on life and bring about a happiness which is beyond the sadness. Sometimes one can also laugh about it. This is somewhat deep and maybe hard for some to understand but those who have felt this will understand that the happy sad concept is when one carries on with life channeling energy into happiness when there is an underlying sadness. Some maybe better at this than others. It is not necessarily a good thing as it could over shadow how someone feels. Only those close to that individual may understand what they are going through and the depth of sadness. We all have our own coping strategies and some of us are more open than others. This can have its advantages and disadvantages.
I like the following scene from the Lion King. The challenges that we face in life, “we can either run from it or learn from it” as Rafiki says. This is from one of my favourite movies and for some reason, this movie makes me tear because of the depth and meaning about some of the concepts of life and death. So what is Rafiki actually trying to say, he is opening us to think about whether we want to run away from our fears or to face it.

Why fear in life? Fear is brought about due to the unknown, especially when taking new paths or ventures in life. This can be confusing sometimes. Fear can be an obstacle that can sometimes take time to overcome. Habits I feel sometime stand in the way. New thoughts lead to new words and new actions but this takes courage. It is also important to be true to yourself and find your inner self. It is important to know what you want in life. Therefore, sometimes it could be essential to pause and take time to zone out away from everyone and just with yourself to figure things out. If our minds our clear our paths become clear but if there are many things in our head the path becomes unclear.
